Hon. Felkin K. Dena CECM Education & Ict , graced the closing ceremony of the Coast Region TVET Fair Exhibition, Robotics and Research Paper Contest, and Skills Competition at the Karisa Maitha Stadium in Kilifi. The event, organized by the Kenya Association of Technical Institutions (KATTI), spanned three days from March 3rd to March 5th. It served as a platform for showcasing the pivotal role of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in fostering sustainable development, with a particular focus on leveraging science, technology, and innovation for economic resilience.
The overarching theme, “TVET for Sustainable Development: The Role of Science, Technology, and Innovation in Economic Resilience,” encapsulated the event’s objectives. Sub-themes such as Automation of Manufacturing Processes, Digitization, Food Security and Value Addition, and Affordable Housing provided a comprehensive framework for discussions and competitions. Participants engaged in lively exchanges, showcasing their skills and expertise in various domains, while also exploring innovative solutions to contemporary challenges facing industries and communities.
Hon. Felkin Kaingu Ndena’s presence underscored the government’s commitment to promoting TVET as a catalyst for national development. His address emphasized the importance of equipping the youth with relevant skills to meet the demands of the evolving job market and contribute meaningfully to the country’s economic growth. As the event concluded, participants departed with newfound inspiration and a strengthened resolve to harness the power of TVET for building a sustainable and prosperous future for Kenya.
