The Department of Education and ICT proudly celebrated the graduation of 353 learners from the first cohort of the Power Learn Project at Pwani University Library. The event, attended by Governor H.E. Hon. Gideon Maitha Mung’aro as the guest of honor, Deputy Governor Hon. Flora Chibule Mbetsa, and CECM for Education and ICT Hon. Felkin Kaingu Ndena, marked a significant milestone in digital education in Kilifi County.
Launched in February 2023, the Power Learn Project, in partnership with the County Government of Kilifi, aims to equip young people with essential digital skills through coding, entrepreneurship training, and digital marketing. Governor Mung’aro reaffirmed the county’s commitment to youth empowerment and digital literacy, pledging continued support and collaboration.
The ceremony highlighted the project’s impact on fostering tech-savvy, entrepreneurial young leaders, setting the stage for a digitally empowered future in Kilifi County. Hosted by the Chief Officer for ICT & E-Government, Lerine Kitema, other invited guests included Deputy Governor of Murang’a County Hon. Stephen Munania, Power Learn Project Executive Director Ms. Mumbi Ndung’u, Chairperson Ms. Nadia Abdalla, and CEO of Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani Dr. Emmanuel Nzai, among others.
