The CECM for Education and ICT, Hon. Felkin Kaingu, accompanied by the Chief Officer for ICT and E-Government, Madam Lerine Kitema, and the Director for Vocational Training, Madam Eddystella Wanja, conducted an official visit to various vocational training centers in Malindi Subcounty.
The first stop on their tour was Kakuyuni Vocational Training Center, where Stanbic Bank is training 12 instructors on digital skills as part of their second cohort program. The first cohort was trained at Gede Vocational Training Center in July last year. In addition to the training, Stanbic Bank has installed internet facilities at the institution and is donating ten desktop computers each to Kakuyuni, Vitengeni, and Marafa Vocational Training Centers.
Following the visit to Kakuyuni, the delegation proceeded to Ganda Vocational Training Center for an inspection of the facilities. The tour concluded at Muyeye Vocational Training Center, where they observed a collaborative training initiative with Comundo a don-aid non-profit organisation focused on plumbing courses.
This initiative reflects Kilifi County’s commitment to enhancing digital and vocational skills among the youth, aiming to equip them with the necessary tools to succeed in a rapidly evolving job market.
